As stated more than one year ago, on my last blog post (shame on me!), Zoologist is one of my favorite perfume houses since I find them interesting and innovative. Their scents are wearable yet unique, even though I do not love them all. One of the Zoologist perfumes that is probably most easy to like is Zoologist Chameleon, launched in 2019 and created by Daniel Pescio. Chamelon opens up with bouncy and and energetic green, fresh, floral notes. Something slightly tart is lurking in the background but oh, is it also some vanilla there? Creamy white and yellow flowers with big fleshy petals, is what comes next. Oh, pure deliciousness. I want to swim in those soft petals, eat them up.

Chameleon is indeed somewhat of a beach scent but hold it right there and do not expect it to be just another soapy, sunscreen-scented generic bottle of perfume, because it is not. It is after all, a Zoologist scent and they are everything else than boring - this is just a bit more easy to like than for example, Bat. Too bad I the last drops of juice are completely finished in my small sample vial, but I hold my nose onto the sprayer, I can still sense the DNA of Chameleon. Words that comes to mind are: sweet, fruity, tropcial, playful, vivid, salty, colorful.

On Fragrantica, I found part of a review that I really enjoyed:

"Full-on pastel fluorescent ice-cream colours and zig zag neon, with blaring stabs of retro synthesiser arpeggios and a bubblegum tang. Powerful shades of the original 1980s Miami Vice aesthetic here - and it's a blast."

It takes a lot for me to truly fall in love with a scent but one does not have to fall in love all the time, sometimes it is enough to just enjoy something. I enjoy Chameleon and I would easily wear it on the beach, or near a beach while eating a big cone of icecream on a really hot summer day. It is definitely more interesting and has more spice and flair than other "beachy scents" that I've come across, but it is also a bit less interesting (to me) than other fragrances from the Zoologist line. But if you are searching for someting that will brighten your mood and paint your thoughts with some fluorescent colors, definitely try on some sprays of Chameleon!
